Scope of Works: Micropile underpinning

Construction of Sri Kia Peng apartment building at Jalan Changkat Kia Peng commenced in 1992. Shinei Geotechnique was invited to construct the foundations of the building.

This was a pioneering RC pile job as this was one of the earliest hydraulic hammer RC pile foundations in Malaysia. This was new at the time as the industry started to move away from diesel hammer to hydraulic hammer to minimise air pollution.

2 years after, Shinei was invited to do underpinning works to the building as additional floors were added to the design of the structure.

Due to the low headroom, we used custom made micropile drilling rigs for the installation of the new piles.

This was one of the earliest underpinning works in Malaysia.
