Job Description:

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated, self-starting and ambitious construction site engineer with strong foundation and geotechnical experience to join the Shinei team.

The engineer will be responsible for managing site operations, including the understanding and implementation of various construction techniques such as earthworks, bored piles, micro piles, caisson piles and retaining wall systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and implement various construction techniques such as earthworks, piling, foundation works, slope stabilisation and retaining walls.
  • Proactively managing selected site operations or components of projects
  • Ensure quality assurance of output of operators and workers
  • Ensure health & safety standards of operators and workers are met
  • Being familiar, compliant and able to undertake duties under the relevant regulations and to promote culture of awareness within the team
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure satisfactory deliverable
  • Ensure effective communication with all involved parties
  • Implement work programme to ensure production is on schedule and plan ahead of foreseeable issues
  • Liaising with client to keep them informed of all development associated with the project including preparation and attendance of progress meetings
  • Taking responsibility for resource allocation, such as identifying wastages and managing petty cash
  • Oversea honest, accurate and timely documentation of site diary
  • Support QS in claims process
  • Write official letters to consultants and clients as needed
  • Deep understanding of contractual issues and ability to manage construction contract
  • Ability to oversee full life cycle of project from before site possession to completion of project.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in construction, with a focus on foundations and geotechnical work
  • Proficiency in digital software tools used by geotechnical engineers 
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques and methods related to foundations and geotechnical work
  • Experience managing site operations and construction projects
  • Have strong capacity to learn and desire for personal growth
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • Able to provide excellent client service
