How our alternative design reduced project cost

  • Reduced diameter from 52.2m to 48.32m - 168 no Ø 1000mm CBP at 1000mm centers to 138 no of Ø 1000mm CBP at 1100mm centers
  • Continuous check at cofferdam perimeter at every 3 piles
  • Changed Jet Grout Curtain Grouting (1000mm width) to Grout Column (300mm Ø In-between the CBP)
  • Adopted a Quick Sealing system
  • Redesign to a Capping Beam and Ring Beam
  • Increased Tension Pile capacity and reduced the number of Tension Piles

  • Shinei Geotechnique was engaged in the Design and Construction of a large circular Cofferdam for the Inlet Works of the Regional Standard Treament Plant, Package 2, Ipoh. The Cofferdam is of diameter 49.0 meters and for excavation down to a depth of 21.0 meters. This is currently the largest cofferdam ever constructed in the Country and is located in a very complex limestone formation in Papan, Perak.

We are very fortunate to have Shinei's vast experience in handling the work with highly skilled technical input, coupled with their extended work safety culture in this extremely difficult work site.

The works have been recently completed in time and to our greatest satisfaction.
